Yuki Kodaira is an artist from Japan who mainly works in illustration and graphic design. She is currently studying Visual Communication in the diploma program at the Kunsthochschule Kassel in Germany. Her interest lies in the relationship between society and art. With this theme, she studied music therapy, community work, and sociology, and completed her Bachelor of Liberal Arts at Saitama University in Japan in 2017. After graduation, she worked as an event organizer for music and art events at a community center.

She has created illustrations for a literary magazine and various online media, and has participated as an illustrator in illustration fairs in Taiwan and Lithuania.

Yuki Kodaira views art as a method of communication that can help people communicate better with each other and create comfortable spaces in society. She has faced difficulties living in Germany as a foreigner, especially in communicating with people who have different native languages and cultural backgrounds. Therefore, she poses the question of whether visual communication can become a common language that enables pleasant communication among people with diverse cultural backgrounds.

Yuki Kodaira ist eine Künstlerin, die aus Japan kommt und hauptsächlich mit Illustration und Grafikdesign arbeitet. Sie studiert zurzeit Visuelle Kommunikation im Bachelorstudium an der Kunsthochschule Kassel. Ihr Interesse ist an der Beziehung zwischen der Gesellschaft und Kunst. Mit diesem Thema hat sie Musiktherapie, Gemeinwesenarbeit und Soziologie studiert und 2017 an der Saitama University in Japan den Bachelor of Liberal Arts absolviert. Nach dem Studium hat sie als Veranstalterin für Events von Musik und Kunst in einem Bürgerzentrum gearbeitet.

Sie hat Illustrationen für eine literarische Zeitschrift und diverse Web-Medien gestaltet und als Illustratorin an den Illustration Fairs in Taiwan und Litauen teilgenommen.

Sie betrachtet Kunst als eine Kommunikationsmethode, mit der man mit anderen Personen besser kommunizieren und bequeme Orte in unserer Gesellschaft schaffen kann. Sie hat Schwierigkeiten in Deutschland erlebt, als eine Ausländerin zu leben und mit Menschen, die andere Muttersprachen und kulturelle Hintergründe haben, zu kommunizieren. Daher stellt sie die Frage, ob Visuelle Kommunikation eine gemeinsame Sprache werden kann, um mit Menschen, die verschiedene kulturelle Hintergründe haben, angenehm zu kommunizieren.

YUkI KODAIRAは主にイラストレーションとグラフィックデザインの分野で活動中のアーティスト。長野県原村出身、現在ドイツのカッセル芸術大学に所属し、ビジュアルコミュニケーションを専攻する。

社会と芸術の関係性に関心を持ち、このテーマのもと、音楽療法、まちづくり、社会学を学び、2017年に日本の埼玉大学教養学部を卒業。卒業後は、市民センターで音楽と芸術のイベントの企画運営に携わった。

これまでに、文芸雑誌やウェブメディア向けにイラストを制作、台湾とリトアニアで開催されたイラストレーションフェアにもイラストレーターとして参加。

YUkI KODAIRAは芸術を「他者とコミュニケーションをとる方法であり、社会の中に居場所をつくるための手段」として捉える。外国人としてドイツで生活し、異なる母語や文化的背景を持つ人々とのコミュニケーションをとる経験から、作品を通して、「ビジュアルコミュニケーションは、異なる文化背景を持つ人々同士が心地よくコミュニケーションをとるための共通言語となり得るのか」という問いを投げかける。

1992年生。在海拔1300公尺的八岳地區,度過了被大自然環繞的幼年時期。大學裡專攻了音樂和地區發展,畢業後進入食品進口公司當上班族,現在邊在Palette ClubSchool學習插畫邊進行創作活動。從自己的人生中相遇到的讓人心動的風景或事物中獲得靈感,運用獨自的色彩感覺去表現出理所當然的日常生活中滿溢的愛和溫暖。
